Dakinis are not fairies, nor are they angels - they are something in the middle as they sometimes show their wings and other times they do not. They do not need wings to fly though and can manifest wherever someone is in trouble or needs help.

More like heavenly beings who are in female or male form and are there for assistance all the time.

Having been through the process of life and death, they have no desisre or aggression and show compassionate love towards all living beings, including animals.
